Palm Springs Style for your home

I spent my winters in Palm springs and every time I arrived home I had a yearning to add that chic desert vibe to my house. It wasn’t until I moved to Ottawa, Ontario that I decided to integrate more of that style into each of my rooms. Our new house already had that modern minimalistic feel with lots of windows and a unique roof line typical to Palms Springs homes. I began by painting the walls a neutral colour and adding pops of colour through artwork and throw pillows. Adding a stone feature wall in both the entry way and the kitchen allowed me to mix in natural materials “very” Palm Springs style.

Clean lines and neutral walls have always been my style but adding vibrant pops of colour with art and pillows was definitely something I picked up while in Palm Springs. Bringing the outside in is also a big trend and using earthy green plants from succulents to palms to ground a space is now my favourite way to decorate. Palm springs style is the perfect balance between coastal living and contemporary style with a little old Hollywood Glam mixed in. Easy living with a minimalistic approach

Try and find some unique retro pieces that exude old Hollywood glam: Pick them up at a flea market or salvage shop
